Which three will make the Top 12 from Group 2?
The power of American Idol has always been in the vote and the shape of the show, determined by what you say. What have you done America? Let’s find out.
The votes were up again last night to 25 million. The girl and guy with the highest number of votes will be going through along with the next highest vote getter. Nine others will be going home.
Before we start handing out the news Group Two perform Ne-yo’s
Closer. It sounds truly fantastic and I highly doubt if it’s actually being performed live.
The votes have been tabulated and after a quick recap of last nights show we’re into the results. Joining Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver and Danny Gokey in the top 12 is:
not Matt Breitzke or Jesse Langseth. Allison Iraheta is though. She sings
Alone again to show America why they voted for her.
Megan Corkery and Kris Allen are called to the centre of the stage. Matt Giraud and Jeanine Vailes are also called to the centre of the stage. One of them is in the Top 12. It’s not Jeanine or Matt. After Kara rambling on and drawing the show out, Ryan takes over and announces that Kris Allen is going through to the Top 12. Kris is surprised and he’s not the only one. He sings
Man in the Mirror again as part of his reward for making the Top 12.
So realistically, Adam Lambert must be the third member from tonight’s show. Unless we’re in for a massive shock result of course. In which case he would surely be in with a placing in the wildcard round.
From 2008, Brooke White is back to perform her new single
Hold Up My Heart.
Mishavonna Henson, Kai Kalama, Jasmine Murray, Nick Mitchell and Adam Lambert line up for their verdict. Kai, Jasmine and Mishavonna are not through. Simon jokes that he spent 6 hours praying last night and is hoping he has a good relationship with God right about now.
America has spoken and Adam Lambert has made it through to the Top 12. He sings
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction again. He really is a seasoned pro.
Next week the final group from the Top 36 will perform for our votes. The final group is likely to be pretty tough as each of them have had a reasonable amount of exposure already on the show. But there can be only 3. Who will it be out of Alex Wagner-Trugman, Arianna Afsar, Felicia Barton, Jorge Nunez, Ju’not Joyner, Kendall Beard, Kristen McNamara, Lil Rounds, Nathaniel Marshall, Scott MacIntyre, Taylor Vaifanua or Von Smith?
On Tuesday group 3 perform, Wednesday we learn their fate and then on Thursday, the wildcards will be selected and by the end of the week we should know the complete Top 12 of American Idol 2009.
