Kohl’s Stays Away From The Big Apple

kohlslc.jpg

Bummer for Lauren Conrad fans in Manhattan!

Despite original hopes to move into New York City, Kohl’s has eased up interest in the 33,000 square ft space at 1775 Broadway. According to one real estate source, “They’ve scrapped Manhattan.”

Their initial interest was piqued after their biggest competitor, J.C. Penney, moved into the Big Apple.

So, at least for now, if you want to get a piece of L.C.’s collection, you’ll have to head out of the big city!

Sigourney Weaver Gets Roped Into Lawsuit

sigourney.jpg

Poor Sigourney!

The Avatar star has been dragged into an ugly $5 million dollar lawsuit between two cosmetic execs.

Anthony Minuto has filed suit against his former business partner, makeup artist Vincent Longo, owner of the Vincent Longo cosmetic company.

Longo has painted the beautiful faces of Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, and many more.

However, Minuto alleges that Longo dropped him for no reason and refused to cash out his 25% stake of the company. He’s now suing for his 25% share plus an additional $5 million in damages.

Weaver also has a small stake in the company, and so she is now a defendant in the case. Minuto said:

“Out of the blue, Vincent wrote me a letter stating that my services were no longer needed and he would not honor any prior agreement or writings that we had made establishing my ownership in the business… It’s outrageous. I built and built and built the company up, and got all the pieces into place, and he threw me out. Now they’re making money, I tried for three months to get my money from him, to no avail.”

Sounds pretty shady! Seems like Longo should at least give Minuto the money he owes him.

Also, seems like Minuto’s concerns don’t really have to do with Weaver, so we hope she doesn’t suffer from this too much!

Bummer!

Valentino Tries To Blend In With The Local Community

fp_4272704_ang_valentino_12.jpg

Our favorite oompa loompa, Valentino spent his Christmas holiday strolling through the streets of luxe ski town Gstaad in Switzerland, looking very styled.

Wonder if he ever hit the slopes or if he’s just there to strut his stuff, a la Mariah Carey.

Either way, he’s hard to miss with such - ahem- natural coloring!

Well this is nice!

Oakley has teamed up with Talk About Curing Autism, a non-profit which works to educate and support families living with autism, to create special edition sunglasses of two versions of the most popular Oakley shades.

The two pairs of sunglasses, the TACA Oakley Fuel Cell and TACA Oakley Ravishing eyewear, feature puzzle-piece decal, emblematic of the puzzle of autism which they work to solve. Each pair comes with a puzzle piece and accompanying TACA logo pin.

Pat McIlvain, Oakley’s vice president of global sports marketing, said “We are honored to team with TACA and play a part in spreading the message of hope.”

The shades are available online and at specialty stores, with $20 from each purchase going to TACA.

Cool!
