Weekend Box Office
‘School’ still rules box office
Weekend B.O.: Saturday bump puts Disney pic on top — Disney’s “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” enjoyed a massive rebound from Halloween to place No. 1 at the North American box office for the second weekend in a row and push its worldwide total to an estimated 6.8 million after 10 days in release.
‘Saw V’ scares off B.O. competition
Weekend B.O.: Lionsgate sequel takes in .1 million Friday — Halloween scared off moviegoers yesterday with many holdovers seeing steep drops and wide entries posting soft openings. Nonetheless, some holiday auds shelled out .1 million for Lionsgate’s “Saw V,” giving the horror installment the top spot at the Friday box office.
Will Halloween haunt box office?
Weekend B.O.: ‘Zack and Miri,’ ‘Saw’ face off against holiday — “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” and holdovers “High School Musical 3″ and “Saw V” all contend with a holiday that’s likely to distract their young-skewing auds.
